IN REPLY to Albert Sherman's Dec. 10 letter, stating, "Our president has not shown any dictatorial tendency." Perhaps Sherman is not aware of executive orders . There is no congressional authorization required, nor is there any review by the judiciary. All executive orders are "laws" made by a single man - the president of the United States.

How about when, with the flick of the imperial pen and without congressional approval, he created what he calls the "Escalante National Monument" in Utah. The next day all prior leases on the land are voided and 1.8 million acres are in the private possession of the federal government. There will be no mining, job creation or economic development.

This is the most recent example of dictatorial power used by the president. Think about it.
